CRC CARES Hosts 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

On November 10 and 11, CBG Building Company, CRC Companies, and Clark Construction Group hosted the twelfth annual CRC CARES Foundation charity golf tournament. 

Held at the Maderas Golf Club, the tournament drew 240 golfers to raise money for charitable organizations that serve the San Diego Community. Thanks to the generosity of industry partners and participants, CRC CARES raised $310,000 at this two-day event and has raised over $3.3 million to date in San Diego alone. More than 100 charities throughout the southern California area have benefited from the tournament funds since the inaugural event in 2005. 

This year’s tournament beneficiaries are all deserving, selfless organizations:

• Adam Brown Legacy Fund was established after Navy SEAL Chief Adam Brown was killed in action in Komar Province, Afghanistan on March 17, 2010. The Fund is administrated by the Arkansas Baptist Foundation in Little Rock, Arkansas where all donations are advised by the Brown family to charities and projects near and dear to Adam.
•  San Diego Police Officers Association (Widows & Orphans Fund) offers both immediate and long-lasting support to those affected by tragedy. Since its establishment, the Widows & Orphans Fund has assisted San Diego police officers and their families in their times of greatest need in a variety of ways – from covering funeral costs to providing health insurance for the children of a fallen hero.
• Seal-NSW Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds and awareness for special programs in direct support of the Naval Special Warfare families on a local, national, and global scale. They offer programs designed to ensure the warriors and families of NSW stay healthy and resilient in this era of persistent deployments.
• Team River Runner (San Diego Chapter) believes that every wounded and disabled veteran deserves the opportunity to embrace new challenges, invoke leadership, and promote camaraderie. The all-volunteer organization provides an outlet to fulfill these beliefs – inviting wounded and disabled war veterans and their families to participate in adaptive paddling programs.

Proceeds from this event were made possible by 78 corporate sponsors, many of whom participate in the tournament every year. To celebrate this year’s tournament and the fun on the course, CRC CARES hosted a dinner and awards reception in the Del Lago Ballroom at the Club both nights of the event.

 Highlights of the evening festivities included a raffle, announcement of tournament winners, and a formal donation presentation to the charitable recipients.
